Make Yourself at Home (2009, Istanbul)
This project explored how people create a sense of belonging in temporary, “in-between” spaces like hotel rooms — neither fully private nor public. Participants were invited to bring an object that would make the room feel like their home, pose with it, and then place it in the room as they wished. Through photography and short written reflections and stories shared by the participants about their objects, the project examined how identity, memory, and personal meaning help transform neutral spaces into temporary homes.
