Messages from Galata Bridge (2025, Istanbul)

This project explores Galata Bridge as a vibrant, collective space where daily life and tourists intersect. Amid the movement of trams, ferries, and pedestrians, the railings of the bridge reveal handwritten messages addressed to the city itself—intimate, diary-like notes reflecting personal thoughts and feelings. By reading and documenting these messages, the project highlights how a public urban space, Galata Bridge becomes a site of belonging in the city, for the locals and visitors alike, through dialogue.
